24-year-old who hasn’t played this season has been told by Pochettino he can leave Chelsea this month and Chelsea is ready to terminate his contract this season
Trevoh Chalobah was always expected to leave Chelsea this month, but Mauricio Pochettino has now told the defender that he is free to depart before the January transfer deadline.
According to Football Insider, Chalobah is not in the Chelsea manager’s plans, and the London club sees the 24-year-old as a saleable commodity who may help their Financial Fair Play situation if moved this month.
The centre-back has been out injured for the entire season, but in a new development, the Chelsea player has hinted that he is close to returning to full fitness, which will help his prospects of finding a club.
It is unclear who Chalobah will join, but Serie A giants AC Milan and Napoli have expressed interest in the defender, according to Alfredo Pedulla.
Crystal Palace are interested in signing the Chelsea centre-back but have yet to make an official offer.
Chalobah needs to leave Stamford Bridge this month in order to improve his game, but it remains to be seen whether clubs would bid for the defender, which has yet to happen.
