Former Manchester United Star Cristiano Ronaldo sends Kylian Mbappe a message after Real Madrid move is confirmed
Kylian Mbappe used to have Cristiano Ronaldo pictures on his bedroom walls as a child. Now he is going to follow in the footsteps of his idol.
Mbappe, who grew up in Paris’ northeastern suburbs, was infatuated with the concept of imitating Ronaldo.
In fact, his father allegedly stated that his kid would “spend hours” viewing videos of CR7 on the internet.
A decade later, in an interview with Spanish journal MARCA, Mbappe revealed how important the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been in his career.
“He is a boyhood idol of mine, and meeting him when I visited Valdebebas was an incredible experience,” he added.
After years of watching Ronaldo become one of the Bernabeu’s greatest players, Mbappe will now don the famed white after his transfer to Real Madrid was completed on Monday night.
“A dream come true,” he stated upon the announcement of the transaction. “I am overjoyed and thrilled to join the club of my dreams, Real Madrid. Nobody understands how delighted I am right now.
Mbappe also responded to the move by sharing a photo of himself and Ronaldo after a visit of Real’s training site.
Not shortly after, the man responded on Mbappe’s post with his own remark.
“My time to [eye emoji],” Ronaldo posted on Instagram. “I’m excited to watch you light up the Bernabeu.”
At the time of writing, the 11-word remark has gotten over 818,000 likes in an hour, a figure that is unlikely to be surpassed on the photo-sharing site.
